One More Chance

SAT prep services get into video games

In an article I read today I learned that "two of the country's largest test-prep course providers are pairing with video game companies for the first time, to give students another way to practice for these oft-dreaded exams." I guess SAT scores are extremely low and test-prep companies are trying to come up with a way that students will want to study. "FutureU" is the name of a PC game that has been designed to help students in simple math, reading and writing. It sells for around $40, in mid-October Nintendo DS should be coming out with a version of the game coasting somewhere around $30.
In my opinion this is great......if it works. I see it like this...... Students won't really pay attention to the fact that they are indeed studying, but when it comes to the actual test you are using a number two pencil and paper. When the student is in a different atmosphere, it is likely that they won't get they same "high score" they can get when playing "FutureU." This will work for some students, but not all.
