Feature film premieres for free on YouTube
Wayne Wang, filmmaker of 1993's "The Joy Luck Club" and 1995's "Smoke" has premiered his new movie "The Princess of Nebraska" on the video sharing site YouTube. People can watch the movie for free from the YouTube Screening Room, with was just recently launched as a channel for movies. Last moth Michael Moore released his documentary "Slacker Uprising" on the new YouTube channel. The rest of the article generally talks about the actual film "The Princess of Nebraska" but I think the fact that YouTube is now allowing for full length movies, is something of a much greater interest. Now viewers can watch movies, for free, with out any illegal activities involved. I think this is a great idea, and who knows, maybe they will start uploading movies from film festivals and other like things, that way many people can see them.
